Ralph has been recovered from alcohol and substance abuse since 1975 after suffering through 10 years of addiction. During his early recovery, he became inspired by counsellors and other recovering people.
The tutelage he received directed him to help others with alcohol, drug, gambling and anger problems. He was hired, trained and worked as an addiction counsellor at the Renascent Treatment Centre in Toronto from 1985 – 1989. Then in Nov. 1989 an opportunity came in Hamilton at the Moreland Addiction Centre of the Chedoke – McMaster hospital. During this time Ralph was accepted at McMaster University where he achieved a Diploma and Certificate in Addiction Studies.
For the next several years he served the Chedoke – McMaster hospital as an Addiction Counsellor at the Moreland Centre and the Hamilton Detox Centre.

Ralph is is a compassionate and caring person whose skills are outstanding in terms of guiding people to achieve their goals. His counselling style has been honed through formal education, personal experience and a strong connection to the recovery community in Hamilton and surrounding area. He is contentedly married with children, physically fit and enjoying life.
Ralph is semi-retired but remains keenly interested in helping people.
